Cherokee County Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government office. We cannot confirm a custody or release status, post bond, arrange a release, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the government custodian that holds the record instead.
Cherokee County Record Contacts
Start with the agency that made the arrest or holds the record sought. Cherokee County does not publish a verified public booking roster or photo feed, and the sheriff does not operate the detention center. A booking request should go to the detention-center custodian, while an arrest report, court case, or municipal record may follow a different route.
Cherokee County Detention Center: 918-456-3201. The county identifies the center as a separate trust under a County Jail Board. Ask for the current records custodian and whether that office holds the booking record or photograph. The official county material reviewed does not provide a public jail roster or booking-photo policy.
Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office: 912 South College Avenue, Tahlequah, OK 74464; 918-456-2583. This is the sheriff’s main and records-routing line. The sheriff is the appropriate contact for sheriff-held reports and warrant-process questions, but it should not be assumed to hold detention-center booking records.
Cherokee County Clerk open-records form: 213 W. Delaware, Room 200, Tahlequah, OK 74464. The county form is a general request route. Identify the requested detention record, name the detention-center custodian, and ask the clerk or jail to route the request to the right holder. Copying and search charges may apply.
Cherokee County Court Clerk: 213 W. Delaware, Room 302, Tahlequah, OK 74464; 918-456-0691. Use the linked Oklahoma District Court Records service for case filings and later disposition information. A court docket is not a live jail roster or a booking-photo source.
Tahlequah Police Records: 100 Phoenix Avenue, Tahlequah; 918-456-8801. Requests may also be mailed to Tahlequah Police Department, Attn: Records, 111 S. Cherokee Avenue, Tahlequah, OK 74464. This is the city route for Tahlequah-held police records, not a published daily arrest log or photo gallery.
Hulbert Police: 111 W. Main, Hulbert, OK 74441; 918-772-2020. The posted office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. After-hours police contact routes through the sheriff at 918-456-2583. Ask the department which custodian holds the record and whether the event was booked at the county detention center.
Cherokee Nation Marshal Service records: 918-456-9224; P.O. Box 948, Tahlequah, OK 74465-0948. The Marshal Service has its own public-records request form. Use this separate route for Marshal-held material because tribal, county, and detention records may have different custodians.
State and federal custody: For a sentenced state prisoner, use the Oklahoma Department of Corrections offender lookup; it is not a Cherokee County booking roster. For federal custody, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator. For immigration detention, use the ICE Online Detainee Locator. These systems cover distinct custody settings and may not reflect a local booking.
- For a detention booking, ask the detention center for the custodian, applicable date range, and whether a record or photograph is releasable.
- For a sheriff or city police incident, ask the arresting agency’s records office for its report process.
- For the filed charge or later outcome, check the court clerk or ODCR using the case information available.
- For records held by Cherokee Nation Marshals, use the Marshal Service’s own request channel.
